How About Canmake Cream Cheek Blush 05 Sweet Apricot For Some Naturally-Flushed Cheeks?

It was a crossover I don’t regret – the switch from powder foundation to liquid foundation. I used to think that my oily skin wouldn’t take to liquid foundation and the foundation would slide down my face like the melting real human wax figures in House of Wax.

Even though I’m entirely convinced that liquid foundation does nothing like that and there are measures to take to prolong wear, I wasn’t sure about jumping on the bandwagon of cream blushes. It’s another hurdle to jump!

But you know, I found myself drawn to the Canmake makeshift-like counter everytime I pass by one at Watsons. It was only a matter of time that I did some swatches of the Canmake Cream Cheek Blushes and to my surprise, quite like the shades!

I think I was blown away by the first color I swatched, which was Canmake Cream Cheek Blush 05 Sweet Apricot, and is the one I’m gonna review!

Cute or Cheap Packaging?

Some people see the casing as a jewel-like pot that is sleek and precious to hold. To me, it looks like a no-frills, budget airline. Small, transparent, and pretty cheap-looking. Lol.

I wonder how does it look high class in any way. Maybe the model and bling-a-blings she’s wearing give the illusion of… umm…. crystals?

Glam Up Your Lips With The Yves Saint Laurent Touche Brilliance Sparkling Touch For Lips Glamorous Red #11

Do you ever keep something away, not because you dislike it, nor are you in love with it, but because you can’t decide what is it that you feel, that you don’t want to finish it up too soon? Lol.

The YSL Touche Brilliance in Glamorous Red has been lying in my makeup cabinet for far too long and I decided to do a review on it. Maybe I will find out how I feel after this post is complete. Maybe you can help me decide too.

Everyone knows about the legendary YSL Touche Éclat, the complexion highlighter that is said to be able to conceal dark eye circles, fine lines and brighten up the skin. I don’t own it by the way, but I’ve swatched it and……… maybe I will be more objective in a review when I do own it some day.

The Touche Brilliance was inspired by the Touch Eclat, the look and mechanism at least.

Gorgeous Lip Shade

Glamourous Red is a gorgeous cherry red with sparkling gold shimmer that looks sophisticated and atas (local slang for prestigious. haha!). I feel like a rich tai-tai when I put this on. Or maybe it’s because I know I’m putting some YSL baby on my lips.

The shimmer is aplenty, but does not rob the base color of its shine; it co-exists with the red very well.

Sometimes I apply Glamorous Red on top of a lipstick, but most of the time, I think it looks smashingly good on its own. In the above picture, YSL Touche Brilliance Glamorous Red was used on its own.

TAG: Get Your Freak On! 15 Weird Facts About Me

Jenn from frmheadtotoe did her list of 15 weird facts about herself. Well, here’s mine so you can know me beyond my beauty product reviews and makeup tips! Heh heh. =D

#1. What’s a nickname only your family calls you?

This is how ‘da’ is written in Chinese.

I am the eldest of 4 children in our family, so my siblings call me ‘da’, which is a short form for ‘da jie’ (Chinese), meaning eldest sister.

The Boyfriend, who will be family some day, calls me ‘BunBunMakeupTips’ ever since I started this blog. Lol.

#2. What’s a weird habit of yours?

HAHA! I was doing the weird habit the moment I read this question.

I like to look up at my bangs for no reason.

#3. Do you have any weird phobias?

I have an indescribable fear of mannequins. I always dream of them coming alive and chasing me with their long, plastic legs down a deserted, dimly lit alley. Yucks! Thinking of it makes me shiver. I try not to enter shops with too many mannequins.

I went to Google ‘fear of mannequins’ and out came Pediophobia.

Pediophobia is a fear of dolls or, more generally, of “false representation of sentient beings” such as mannequins or robots. The word is derived from the Greek word paidion, meaning “little child”. – Wikipedia

But I’m not afraid of dolls or robots. Just mannequins. Especially bald ones. X(

#4. What’s a song you secretly LOVE to blast & belt out when you’re alone?

‘They don’t really care about us’ by Michael Jackson, although I can barely sing it. Enunciating the words (badly) is one thing, getting the accent (quite impossible) is another thing, but it’s the emotions that MJ put into the song that is perfectly inimitable.

#5. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves?

People who stand on the right of the escalator. It becomes a super big pet peeve when my train is coming and the people standing on the right in front of me don’t want to move, simply because their train on the opposite platform is not here. GAH!

Dear Bourjois Liner Glitter Fizz Eyeliner, You’ve Got To Be The Best Glitter Eyeliner!

It’s a good thing to put hope in things you’ve never tried before.

When I’ve been lied to many times by eyeliners that promise to be long lasting, pigmented, easy to apply and turn out anything but, along came a little miracle product that makes me want to believe that the world of liquid eyeliners is good again. LOL.

I loved the Bourjois Liner Glitter Fizz in 32 Nuit etoilee (Blue) so much I got 31 Star Black (Black) at a sale recently! These are the only 2 colors available in Singapore. I read it comes in Sparkling Green too. Shall not rant.

Great Pigmentation

The Bourjois Liner Glitter Fizz eyeliners are the most pigmented glitter eyeliners I’ve ever laid my hands on. The NYX glitter liners don’t cut it and the MAC Glitter Eye Liner pales in comparison.

Just look!

The Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner Is Probably Not For Oily Eyelids

Sometimes in life, you’d be happy you gave some people or things a second chance. Other times, you just want to hit yourself for not having learnt from the adage ‘Once Bitten, Twice Shy’.

One such product that makes me wanna hit myself hard is the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner.

Not Black Enough!

I must sound like a broken record by now, but I like my eyeliner black – VERY BLACK.
